About the Ministerial Council on Energy: The Ministerial Council on Energy is the national policy and governance body for the Australian Energy Market, responsible for delivering the economic and environmental benefits for Australia resulting from implementation of the Council of Australian Governments national energy policy framework.

Energy Security Working Group (ESWG)

The ESWG was formed by the Standing Committee of Officials (SCO) to review arrangements for the management of emergencies in electricity, gas and liquid fuel markets. The ESWG's membership consists of representatives from each jurisdiction, NEMMCO and the gas market operators of New South Wales & the Australian Capital Territory (GMC), Victoria (VENCorp) and South Australia (REMCo). It is chaired by the Commonwealth.
