The Retail Policy Working Group was the group tasked with developing a harmonised national consumer protection framework for the retail sale of electricity and gas and a range of related reforms to support this framework. The implementation of the National Energy Customer Framework (NECF) involves the transfer of current State and Territory responsibilities to a single set of national Laws, regulations and Rules.
For historical information on the Retail Policy Working Group and the NECF(including associated consultation papers, submissions and SCO Bulletins), please refer to the archive webpage.
The Joint Implementation Group (JIG) was established by the Ministerial Council on Energy Standing Committee of Officials in 2010 to ensure a co-ordinated national approach to the implementation of the NECF by each of the participating States and Territories.
